Setting general connection properties
This section describes how to configure general connection properties. For an explanation of how to configure advanced connection properties, see Setting advanced connection properties.
To add a Microsoft APS PDW target endpoint to Qlik Replicate:
- In Tasks view, click Manage Endpoint Connections to open the Manage Endpoints Connections dialog box. Then click the New Endpoint Connection button.
- In the Name field, type a name for your database. This can be any name that will help to identify the database being used.
- In the Description field, type a description that helps to identify the Microsoft APS PDW database. This is optional.

Select Target as the database role.
- Select Microsoft APS PDW as the database Type.
- In the Server name field, enter the hostname or IP address of the Microsoft APS PDW machine.
- Optionally, change the default Port (5000).

Type the Microsoft APS PDW authentication information (User Name, Password) for the authorized user for this Microsoft APS PDW database. If you do not know this information, see your Microsoft APS PDW database Administrator (DBA).
Information note- This information is required. If you are using the Advanced tab to create a custom string, make sure to include the User Name and Password properties. See Setting advanced connection properties for more information.
- This information is case sensitive.
- If you want to set custom properties for this database, see Setting advanced connection properties.
Information noteMake sure that the Microsoft APS PDW user entered in the Microsoft APS PDW Authentication section has the correct access privileges. For information on how to provide the required privileges, see Security requirements.

In the Database name field, enter the name of the Microsoft APS PDW database.
